Scenic Holes
Wilderness Ridge No. 18
The one thing Wilderness Ridge golf course always offers are outstanding views that defy the usual Nebraska golf scenery.
The par-4 No. 18 is a great example, and provides the golfer with a challenging finishing hole as good as any around Lincoln. If you set it beside the finishing hole of their executive course it might be two of the best final holes in the state.
It is a straight forward hole that requires an accurate shot off the tee to a landing area around the 150 marker that is only about 30 yards wide. Playing from the black tees it is 463 yards, but us average golfers will be at the brown or gold which ranges from 444 to 420. A stream and pond runs along the right side beautifully framed with young Aspen, Elm, and Maple trees.
Yankee Hill No. 2
The second hole at Yankee Hill, a 407-yard (Black tees) par-4, presents some challenge for both the long hitter and the strategist.
Hidden Valley No. 18
Those of you who have not taken advantage of the great rates at Hidden Valley are really missing a treat.
Woodland Hills No. 14
Most people have read about the par-3 No. 6 hole at Woodland Hills in Eagle, and it certainly can be challenging with all that water around the green, but I think one of the most scenic holes around is No. 14.
Quarry Oaks No. 14
There are a whole series of holes at Quarry Oaks that make you take notice, but the ones that run along the Platte River really impress me.
